The Patriot Bike

We called this 2002 Gold Wing the Patriot bike.
It was painted in
rural Pennsylvania shortly
after the September 11 bombings.
It is scrolled in a rare pattern of reds,
whites and blues,
with an American flag and eagle on the rear trunk.
The
signature Scarecrow is leaning on a tiny flag pole with a memorial date: 9-11
2001.
It was painted & sold at Lebanon Valley Cycles
in Jonestown, PA, 717-865-6633.

I did similar paint scheme on a black 2002 Gold Wing near Chicago,
IL.
It is for sale at Des Plaines Honda ;
847-699-9600
222

I received the following e-mail on March 28, 2002.

HI
MY NAME IS JIM ELVIN AND I LIVE IN MOUNT JOY, PA.
I PURCHASED THE PATRIOT BIKE IN FEBRUARY.
I LOOKED AT a lot OF 1800'S BUT WHEN I SAW THIS ONE I LAID IT AWAY
IMMEDIATELY. WITHIN DAYS SEVERAL OTHERS CAME TO LV HONDA TO
BUY IT. I AM VERY PROUD AND FEEL VERY LUCKY TO HAVE RUN ACROSS
IT BEFORE IT WAS SOLD. YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB ON IT AND I HAVE POSTED
SEVERAL PICTURES OF IT ON THE MSN COMMUNITIES GL1800 SITE
ALONG WITH MENTION OF YOUR NAME AS THE ARTIST
I HOPE THAT IS OK.
JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THIS BIKE ENDED UP
TAKE CARE
JIM
